Eligibility Criteria for Commonwealth Scholarships in UK:

The university is responsible for ensuring its candidates to meet the CSC’s eligibility standards. To apply for scholarship program, applicants should:

  • Applicants be a citizen of, or be granted refugee status in, an eligible developing Commonwealth country (see overleaf), or be a British Protected Person;
  • You should be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country (see overleaf);
  • Applicants must hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be reviewed in certain cases;
  • Candidates must be unable to afford to study the programme without this scholarship.
  • Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships may not be held for more than one course.
  • If applicants selected for a scholarship, applicants must be residents and remain in an eligible developing Commonwealth country and should not undertake study towards any other qualification for the duration of their award.

Application Deadline for Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship in UK 2023-2024:

All applications submitted by 16.00 (GMT) on28th March 2023at the latest. Your application should include all the supporting documentation by deadline in order for your application to be eligible for consideration.

Selection Procedure for Scholarship in UK:

Each participating UK university will execute its own hiring process to select a specified number of candidates for Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship in UK. Universities put forward their selected candidates to the CSC by 9 May 2023. The CSC will then confirm that these candidates have meet the eligibility criteria for this scheme. Universities will inform the applicants of their results by July 2023.

Selection criteria include:

  • Academic merit of the applicants
  • Potential impact of the work on the development of the candidate’s home country

How to Apply for Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship 2023?

Applicants must apply to study an eligibleMaster’s course at a UK university that is participating in the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship in UK.

You also secure admission to your course in addition to applying for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship in UK. You should check with your chosen university for their specific advice on when to apply, admission requirements, and rules for applying.Applicants make their application using the CSC’s online application system, in addition to any other application that you are asked to complete by your chosen university. The CSC will not choose/accept any applications that are not submitted via the online application system.

Applicants can apply for more than one course and/or to more than one university, but you may only accept one offer of a Distance Learning Scholarship in UK.

All applications should be submitted by16.00 (GMT)on28 March 2023.

Your application should include the following supporting documentation by16:00 (GMT)on28 March 2023in order for your application to be eligible for consideration:

  • Provide the proof that the applicant is a citizen or has refugee status in an eligibleCommonwealth country:
  • Submit a copy of a valid passport (or national ID card) showing a photograph, date of birth, and country of citizenship
  • Submit the Full transcripts detailing all higher education qualifications, including to-date transcripts for any courses currently being studied, with certified translations if not in English
  • Provide the References from at least two individuals, on institutional letterhead or an email clearly showing the sender’s details

The CSC will not accept supporting documentation submitted other than the online application system.

Supporting documentation must be uploaded to the online application system as files that are nomore than 5 MB in sizeand should be in one of the following formats:PDF, .doc, .docx, .odt, .jpg, .jpeg. Files submitted in any other format (including Zip files and PDF Portfolios) will NOT be considered.

Candidates are responsible for seeking permission from their referees in advance of submitting their application; to ensure that their referees are available to complete the reference by the deadline and have received the reference request email from the online application system.
